ACUPRESSURE FOR ANYONE WORKSHOP SERIES

NOTE:  SEVA PARTS 1 & 2 ARE PRE-REQUISITES FOR ALL CLASSES THAT FOLLOW

 Seva Acupressure for Self-Care (Part 1)  Monday, March 16, 2020, 6:30 – 9:30 pm

This 3 hour workshop teaches how to use the Seva Stress Release program for self-care. Seva, a Sanskrit word, means selfless, compassionate service. Seva Acupressure is simple to learn, easy to perform, and profoundly supportive for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Participants will: experience the healing and transformative power of acupressure; learn to use an Awareness Journal; learn a unique method of touch through demonstration and hands-on practice; and learn Chakra Tai Chi, a movement meditation practice for self-care. No prior bodywork experience needed. Seva Part One is a pre-requisite for Seva Part Two.         Fee: $45

Seva Acupressure With Others (Part 2)  Monday, March 23, 2020, 6:30 – 9:30 pm

Seva Part 1 is a pre-requisite for this workshop. This 3 hour workshop is Part 2 of introductory training and builds upon skills learned in Seva Part 1. Using Seva Stress Release with others will be practiced seated in chairs and lying on massage tables. After taking Parts 1 and 2 participants will have information and skills to practice using the Seva Stress Release protocol on themselves and with others. Fee: $45

Great Central Channel  Monday, April 6, 2020, 6:30 – 9:30 pm

Seva Parts 1 and 2 are pre-requisites for this workshop. During this three-hour workshop participants will learn more about Chinese medicine, balancing yin and yang, two acupressure meridians (Governing and Conception Vessels) and the chakra system. Participants will learn and practice giving and receiving the Great Central Channel acupressure formula, which enhances and strengthens our grounding, stability, and whole being alignment between heaven and earth, discussed in Chinese medicine. This formula works closely with the spine and chakra system. Participants will also practice the Chakra Tai Chi movement meditation for self-care. Fee: $45

Head and Neck Formulas  Monday, April 20, 2020, 6:30 – 9:30 pm

Seva Parts 1 and 2 are pre-requisites for this workshop. Chinese medicine looks for ways to bring into balance what is out of balance in our whole being. In our culture a high priority is placed on being able to think and respond quickly and clearly, not just intellectually, but physically, emotionally and spiritually. In this workshop participants will practice locating acupressure points, reading acupressure formulas, and giving and receiving a full acupressure session. Formulas presented will help open the pathways of communication between the head, neck, and body. Fee: $45

Back and Chest  Monday, April 27, 2020, 6:30 – 9:30 pm

Seva Parts 1 and 2 are pre-requisites for this workshop. Many of the meridians and acupressure points described in Chinese medicine run through the front and back torso of the body. The majority of our physical processes are centered here. The back body carries much of our history and provides access to the nervous system through acupressure points along the spine and back body. Working with the back and chest works considers the Chinese medicine principle as above so below…as in front so behind. Formulas learned and practiced in this workshop will help bring a clearer, stronger flow of energy through the torso.  Fee: $45

CLINICAL ACUPRESSURE 1: Basic Applications

October 1-4, 2020, 9 am – 5 pm, Manchester, NJ

October 15-18, 2020, 9 am – 5 pm, Syracuse, NY

Clinical Acupressure (CA) promotes wellness and rejuvenation by accessing and addressing the vital energies of the body. CA is derived from traditional acupressure, which uses touch on specific points to release and rebalance energy flows through the body. Specific point combinations are held with firm, gentle finger pressure as the body, mind and spirit return to balance. CA is not intended to replace medical care for serious conditions. However, those who receive this method report that it addresses common symptoms easily and effectively, with no harsh side effects. CA is can complement physical therapy, massage, or nursing. It also stands very well on its own. A full CA session takes about an hour, with the client fully dressed during the session. NOTE: Clinical Acupressure 1 and Process Acupressure 1A are course requirements for SLI Foundation Certification. For additional Foundation Certification information: www.soullightening.com. Fee: $695
